Big Bash Toddler Dance Party

Saturday, March 4; 2-5pm; Newark Public Library; FREE but RSVP
After a monthly series pairing a storytime with a movement class, Newark Mommies and the Newark Public Library thanks to the Newark Arts Art Start grant are hosting a dance party for toddlers and their families on March 4th.  Kids can move and groove to a DJ along with fun activities, photo booth, storytimes and more.

Family Fun in the Kitchen

Family Fun in the Kitchen

Wed, March 15; 11-1pm; Greater Newark Conservancy; $5
When school is out on the 15th, the Conservancy put together a family workshop for parents and caretakers to hone their cooking skills with their children. Learn how to make simple, affordable recipes that the whole family will love! Families from Hawthorne Avenue School, Clinton Hill Early Childhood Center, or Harriet Tubman School are FREE but you must call Megan at 973.642.4646 to register.

KhemFest 2017

Khem Comic Fest

Fri-Sat, March 17-18; 10am-7pm; Central High School; Free for kids, $10 adults
If you have a comic lover? This is the event to attend… The Khem Comic Book Fest is an annual convention founded by comic book creator and educator Naseed Gifted in 2014 that features creators of comics, books, film, and other media with a focus on artists and characters of color.  The goal of the event is to use comic books, films and popular culture to develop youth literacy and expression through S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology Engineering, Arts and Math). In addition, all proceeds from the Khem Comic Book Fest will go to the Central High School Engineering Academy Program. A win-win-win!
