Adult Swim Lessons
Registration is now open for Adult swim classes that begin Wednesday, September 26th and end November 17th. The class will be held once per week on Wednesdays or Fridays from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m., or on Saturdays from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Classes will be held at the John F. Kennedy Aquatic Center, located at 211 West Kinney Street (entrance on Howard Street), in the City's Central Ward. The class is entitled, "Introduction to Water for the Fearful Adult," and is aimed at Newark residents who are not familiar with swimming and water activities.
Registration forms for the classes can be picked up at the Kennedy Aquatic Center, until Wednesday, September 26. Slots for the classes are first-come, first-served, and space is limited, so residents are encouraged to register early. Participants must bring a swim suit, towel, shower shoes (Flip flops), and a bathing cap, which is required for anyone whose hair is more than two inches long. While the aquatic center provides lockers, it does not provide locks - participants should bring their own locks to secure their personal property.
