Amiri Baraka Scholarship Opportunity 2015
The Believe In Newark Foundation annually provides Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship for minority students who are studying or plan to study within the areas of Fine Arts, Music, and Drama/Theatre disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States. The Scholarship Committee aims to increase diversity in creative professions and foster a feeling of social and environmental responsibility among artists. Recipients are therefore selected not only on the basis of their need and talent, but also on their demonstrated commitment to give back to the community through their work. The recipient of this scholarship will receive $ 6,000. This award will be paid directly to your school to be applied to your tuition.Requirements:
- Must be a Newark resident
- High School Senior attending a public high school (including charter schools) accepted into a four- year college/university majoring in Fine Arts, Music, Drama & Theatre
- Student must also have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B average)
