With the summer coming to an end, Newark is full of Back to School events with backpack giveaways, parties and more! Check out a rundown of events coming up. 

Back to School Giveaway @ TREC (55 Ludlow St)

Friday, August 25; 12-4pm
Free bookbags & supplies (while supplies last).
Boys 5-12 years old - free haircuts.
Girls 5-12 years old - perfectly pretty giveaways.
 

Back to School Event @ The ClubHouse 

Saturday, August 26; 11am-2pm
Music, Raffles, Book Bag Giveaway, Vendors, Bouncy Houses, Class Demonstrations, Food, Fun! Bring a towel and swim suit! First Come, First Served Basis!
 

BackPack Giveaway @ NPS Family Support Center (301 W. Kinney)

Saturday, August 26: 1pm-4pm
All backpacks will be filled with school supplies for the new school year. Open to NPS and Charter School students from pre-k through 12th grade. Register online

 

Back to School Enrichment Fair @ The Waterfront (2 Grafton Ave)

Saturday, August 26: 11am-2pm
Bookbag Giveaway and supplies (distributed first come, first served basis; child must be present). Fashion Show & Performances, Games, Rock climbing, bouncy house, raffles and more!

 

Back to School Giveaway @ Newark Public Library

Tuesday, August 29: 10:30am-1pm
Free backpack giveaway (while supplies last) by United Way of Essex and West Hudson

 

Back to School Night for Teens @ Newark Museum

Friday, September 1: 6-9pm
Hosted by Newark Museum Explorers Program. FREE food, activities, and raffle prizes. Customize your school supplies, learn how to do calligraphy, all inspired by works of art from our collection.

 

Back to School Jam @ Weequahic Park (Ron Christian Sports Complex)

Saturday, September 2: 2-6pm
Free food, haircuts for boys, manicures for girls, arts & crafts activities, filled bookbags. Special guests Dox Diggla (motivational rapper and speaker)
