Ballantine Green Festival 2012
On Saturday, April 14th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, in the parking lot between Oxford, Ferry and Freeman Streets, residents in Newark will join the Ironbound Community Corporation for the first time in hosting the "Ballantine Green Festival" showcasing the East Ferry Street neighborhood and all that has been accomplished there. The "Ballantine Green Festival" will promote and feature the diversity of the East Ferry Street community, celebrate its rich history, and educate the public about green healthy living to inspire residents to do their best in keeping their neighborhood and homes environmentally sound. It is the first step in bringing back to life the old Ballantine Beer facilities.This cultural day of learning will feature local entertainers - artists - games for kids - food - prizes - and much more! An exciting highlight will be the "Eco Village" where you can drop off your electronics and batteries to be recycled, drop off old carpets for recycling, as well as partake in a host of exciting environmental demonstrations.
