Brick City Design Market 2013

Brick City Design Market 2013

Holiday Season! Shop Local! Unique Items! Cool Scene! Whatever the reason, pop-up shop Brick City Design Market is here at Seed Gallery (210 Market Street) Saturdays from 12-6pm (closed December 14th).

The market will feature independent fashion, accessory, product, furniture, and designers. Each week there will be no more than 5 designers and up to 2 local food vendors. PLUS you'll find raffles, fashion/beauty workshops, cooking demos, pampering services and more. Top that off with a DJ spinning while an art exhibit is shown. It's everything a shopper or browser can ask for!

The designers are curated by Meca McKinney. Meca had an on-going dream of pulling together some "dope designers I know and having a weekly design market downtown Newark, something like you'll see in the meatpacking district or Soho in NYC." Meca is an artisan herself and creator of Jypsea Leathergoods, featuring hand-crafted leather goods, décor, accessories and furnishings. The market is co-produced by Gizem, the owner of SEED. The duo decided to collaborate to create new opportunities for Newark artists and supporting the creative class.
