Cell Phone Cinema Contest and Classes

Women In Media are hosting a Cell Phone Cinema contest to encourage students ages 16-22 to think deeply about the significance of Women's History Month , as well as to challenge young people who are interested in careers in the film industry to perfect their skill set. Entries are for students anywhere in the world. The winning films will be screened at the Women's History Month Film Festival in March 2014.

Those interested in entering may also register for a series of four classes to be at Rutgers-Newark on October 5, 12, 19, and 26 to provide an overview of the various phases of film making using the cell phone for cinematography. These classes, taught by the "Father of Cell Phone Cinema," world renowned film maker, NYU Professor Karl Bardosh, are offered free to participants.
