Community Spring Cleaning

It's that time of year... spring cleaning. But with Earth Day this year, lots of Newark communities are taking cleaning to the streets, the parks and everything in between. Get involved in your local community with some spring cleaning.

Earth Day Ironbound

Date: Saturday, April 21 at 9am
Location: Ironbound Rec Center at 9am
Help remove garbage, graffiti and other debris from selected areas of the Ironbound. A major bbq and children's workshop will be held at the Ironbound Rec Center following the clean-up

Community Garden Launch in Vailsburg

Date: Sunday, April 22 at 9:30am
Location: 67-69 Norwood Street
Help create some truly fresh and local produce. No experience necessary (will be trained by expert gardener). Work the garden Sunday and for the season as well.

Mt. Prospect Spring Planting & Clean-Up

Date: Saturday, April 28 from 9am-2pm
Location: meet at Petolino Florists 650 Mt. Prospect Ave at 9am
Landscaping and clean-up activities will be performed by the Partnership's Clean Team staff and volunteers. All equipment and supplies will be provided, plus coffee and snacks will be served. Interested volunteers contact Chris 201-424-6499 or [email protected]

Jersey Cares Day

Date: Saturday, May 5 from 9am-1:30
Location: throughout Newark

West Ward Community Clean-up

Date: Saturday, May 5 from 10am-3pm
Location: Boylan Rec Center
Breakfast - Registration - Cleaning - Refreshments!
