Conservancy Now Offers CSA Program

There's another CSA in town, created by the Greater Newark Conservancy. The Conservancy's Newark Youth Leadership Project (NYLP) Youth Farm Stand Program provides members with a full bag of fresh, locally-grown produce every other week.

The Conservancy is offering four different membership options to provide affordability and flexibility, including a full season personal share (enough for 2 people) for $200 or a full season family share (enough for 4+ people) for $350 from May 22nd till November 21st. You can also choose a half personal share (summer) for $75 from July 3rd to September 18th or a half personal share (fall/winter) from September 25th to November 20th for $75.

Pick up days are the first and third Thursdays of the month at Greater Newark Conservancy's Outdoor Learning Center, 32 Prince Street in Newark. Pickup times are Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Fridays between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. The Conservancy offers curbside pick up at Broome Street, but cannot offer personal delivery at this time. Call the day of pick up for curbside assistance. The Conservancy can deliver to groups of 10 or more in the same location (office building, apartment, school, etc.). Please call to arrange your group delivery service.

To sign up for your Farm Stand Membership, fill out the member agreement form found at the Conservancy's website. WIC and SNAP are both accepted for payment.

The deadline to sign-up for a full season share (personal or family) membership is May 16, 2014. The Conservancy may pro-rate memberships until June 12, 2014 for late registrations, but cannot accept registrations later than 3 weeks after pick-up has started. Summer half share memberships will be accepted until July 24, 2014. Contact NYLP Coordinator Emma Mujica at 973.642.4646 x11 or email emujica@citybloom.org to sign up or for more information.
