Conservancy’s Spring Block Party
Join Greater Newark Conservancy staff and community members at the Conservancy's Urban Environmental Center, 32 Prince Street (between Springfield Avenue and South Orange Avenue) in Newark for the annual Spring Block Party on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.
There will be lots of free and fun activities including kids' crafts, face painting, warbler whistles, a Garden Safari, a children's scavenger hunt exploring the gardens for hidden treasures, plus a visit by Rainbow the cow and a dairy farmer! For urban farmers, gardeners and friends of the Conservancy, the Spring Block Party will also feature free raffles, a plant sale, gardening demonstrations, free food samples and entertainment. Newark Youth Leadership Project (NYLP) interns will be staffing the Youth Farm Stand, offering fresh produce for sale.
