Countdown to NJ’s Superbowl
Last night at the crowd reacted to the power outage at the Thunderdome, New Jersey answered strongly on twitter and facebook. On twitter, "@MetLife_Stadium: Don't worry. Next year, at #metlifestadium, the lights will stay on! #SBxlviii" - starting the Superbowl countdown with a little Jersey attitude.Last week, Governor Christie and the National Football League announced a series of activities and events that will call New Jersey home when the Super Bowl visits the region on February 2, 2014. The first official public event of Super Bowl Week - Media Day, to feature players of both participating teams - will be held here at the Prudential Center, on Tuesday, January 28. This will mark the first time that the event will be held outside of the game's host venue, or the site of the Super Bowl.
In addition, New Jersey will host the two competing teams, as both will lodge at hotels in the state during their extended stay in the area. The teams will also practice in New Jersey - with the NFC team utilizing the Timex Center and the AFC the Atlantic Health Facility at Florham Park.
Another mainstay Super Bowl event, the NFL's Tailgate Party, which is held during the final hours leading up to game time, will take place at the Grandstand at the Meadowlands Racetrack, on Sunday, February 2.
Stay tuned, for countdown to the first outdoor, cold weather superbowl. The official host website is already up - www.nynjsuperbowl.com
