Crochet & Knitting
Yarn is hot right now with lots of cool options to learn how to crochet or knit! Every Tuesday evening, join the 21+ older crowd for a drink with a knitting and crochet lesson at the Project for Empty Space in the Gateway. Thursday mornings, join the Artisan Collective with your own tools and yarn for a free crochet drop-in. Continue the creating on Saturday afternoons at the Artisan Collective for a lesson by Leslie Peterson, a crochet artist, classes are $10.
Jewelry Business
GlassRoots is offering a 6 week course to learn how to make flame-worked beads and design, finish and assemble jewelry. Then teach you how to sell your products online, at craft fairs and to wholesalers. The entire program costs $285, scholarships are available and no student will be turned away due to inability to pay. Learn more.
Print Club
Learn the art of print making at the Newark Print Shop in their new space at the Hahne’s building. Every Wednesday night for $10 have access to their letter press, etching tank, dark room, silk screens and so much more. Use the evening to create prints of a cool design, your logo or whatever. Many have gone on to sell some of their wearables too! Learn more.
