Culinary Adventures in Newark

Newark's culinary scene will be in the national spotlight this weekend. The Cooking Channel will be creating a special episode of "The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia." Baron has been on TV for the last 12 years on a show called Bronx Flavor which is shown locally in the Bronx and rebroadcast on NYTV. The Cooking Channel approached Baron about trying something outside of the Bronx to test his appeal nationwide... and Baron selected Newark for his premiere!

Baron's show is not your typical Food Show - it's more of a novella of food showcasing small authentic restaurants not normally seen on other shows. Baron loves Newark and sees the similarities with that of the Bronx. He researched and spoke with many locals for the best eats and ate at 10 Newark eateries.

The show will air him exploring three Newark destinations: Seabra's Marisqueira, the place formally known as Jimmy Buff's, and Allyuh Fete (on South Orange Ave).

The first episode of "The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia" airs Sunday on the Cooking Channel (Channel 116 on Fios and unfortunately not on Cablevision) at 10:30pm and in fact the host Baron will be hosting a special viewing party at Seabra's Marisqueira from 9-11pm. Stop by and meet the host and see the show.
