Founders Weekend Festival: Schedule Announced

5pm: Stefon Harris with the United States Air Force premier jazz ensemble, the Airmen of Note

As the city's 350th year moves forward plans to make it a festive year continue. Today the Newark350 committee announced details of it's main kick-off event, Founders Weekend Festival, May 13-15 at Military Park, downtown Newark. 

Military Park will be the place to be for that mid-May weekend. There will be a main entertainment stage. Tonight some of the acts were announced.

• Friday, May 13: Faith Evans and Felix Hernandez
• Saturday, May 14: Naughty by Nature, Stefon Harris (jazz musician), and DJ Bobby Trends
• Sunday, May 15: Cissy Houston

The park will also have it's new carousel on site and there will be a second stage with children's performing groups and more family oriented performances. 

The festival will include family-friendly activites, an arts & crafts fair, interactive exhibits and a food truck festival.
The committee is preparing to host over 30,000 attendees.
