Free Flu Shots 2015
Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Department of Health and Community Wellness Hanaa Hamdi announced today that the City of Newark is providingfree influenza vaccinations, beginning Monday, October 19, at sites around the City. Newark residents seeking flu shots must present proof of residency at the sites, which can be personal identification or a utility bill with their name and address on it or Newark Municipal ID.
The 2015 Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Program is provided by the Department of Health and Community Wellness. Flu shots will be given at various sites on scheduled days and times, please see list of sites below.
The free flu vaccinations will continue to be offered as part of National Influenza Immunization Week, an annual event designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to highlight the importance of continuing influenza vaccination, as well as foster greater use of flu vaccine through the months of December and January 2016. During these months, the Department of Health and Community Wellness will administer vaccinations at their clinics located at 110 William Street and 394 University Avenue, Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
