Free Pre School Enrolling Now

The Leaguers is offering free Preschool to 3-4 years of age children within the Newark area. They are now enrolling children at our brand new site at 553 Orange St. All enrolled students will receive a Free backpack filled with school supplies.

The Leaguers is a non-profit organization with a strong history spanning sixty-two (62) years in the community and State. In addition to providing Early Head Start/Head Start services to over a thousand children in Essex and Union counties, they provide educational, health/mental health, nutrition, parenting skills classes, leadership classes; referrals for: housing , English as a Second Language and job preparation/placement services to community families. They have 12 other sites as well.

Requirements:
- Families must be at or below federal poverty income guidelines (10% of the enrollment can be over the income)
- Must reside in the service area (Newark, Irvington, Elizabeth, Roselle, Linden, Union)
- For Head start the child must be three years old by October 1st
- Child must be 3 by October 1st - For Early Head Start from pregnancy to three
- Must submit a signed application, proof of income, proof of residency, Immunization record
