Free Workouts at Shabazz HS
The students of Malcolm X Shabazz High School want to excel academically, as well as, promote healthy living for students, faculty and staff. Naquashia Rattray, senior and current member of the Lady Bulldogs, recognized the importance of well-being. Taking note of her community, this young lady saw that the physical and emotional health of her generation was at stake. Because of this, Naquashia decided to start a 10 pound weight loss challenge at Malcolm X Shabazz High School. Initiating this program will help prevent bullying, individuals will have more energy and also begin to feel good about themselves. Because of the high intake of fast foods and not eating a balanced diet, many students struggle daily with their weight. This challenge will provide individuals with tips on how to eat healthy, stay fit and ultimately boost the self-esteem for those who struggle with weight lost. Naquashia along with assistant coach, Coach Al Watson, are offering free workouts for students, faculty and staff. This is just the start of her bigger idea, KickFLY, a future sneaker store. Good luck Naquashia - we will get an update on the 10lb challenge soon.
