Free Yoga Classes at Rec Centers
The City of Newark is hosting free Yoga classes at two recreation centers, now through November 30. The classes are FREE and open to Newark residents ages 14 and up, and take place at the John F. Kennedy Aquatic Center on Fridays and the St. Peter's Recreation Center on Saturdays.
FRIDAYS: 5:30-7pm @ JFK Aquatic Center (ages 14 and above) - until 11/24
SATURDAYS: 10am-11:30am @ St. Peter's Rec Center (all ages) - until 11/30
The class will be conducted by certified Lotus Yoga instructor Jennifer Kohl, which is based in Lincoln Park. Advance registration is encouraged. Registration forms are available at any of the two participating recreation centers.
"Jennifer Kohl's commitment and leadership has taught me the value of inner fitness and new ways to be of service to others. I think that these are very stressful times for most people, and I hope that more Newarkers will take advantage of learning about Yoga," said fayemi shakur, a Newark resident and writer who has taken Ms. Kohl's classes and is training under Lotus Yoga to become an instructor in the subject.
