Full Yoga Teacher Training Scholarships for Newark Residents
Newark Yoga Movement (NYM) has partnered with Yoga Impact, a not-for-profit organization that brings the science and art of a yoga lifestyle to under-served populations. They are offering a fully comprehensive 200-hour teacher training on FULL scholarship to 12 Newark Residents. This training focuses on teaching all trainees to teach gentle, chair and flow yoga classes and is valued at $3000+!
Trainings are two weekends a month for three months in Newark (March 10-12, March 25-26, April 7-9, April 22-23, May 5-7 and May 20-21. Note that the three day weekends start later on Friday). You'll have homework, take lots of yoga classes--always a good thing, get hands on experience, be assigned a mentor to work with or chat about pretty much anything and gain knowledge and support on how to take we learn back into your community. The primary training guide is Nancy Candea, the founder of Yoga Impact and an activist in global health revolution.
From Newark Yoga Movement, "After the training, everyone is welcome to work with Newark Yoga Movement and receive paid seva (charity) for classes you teach, however you may have the desire to share yoga in another way in Newark and that's fine. The more people that make yoga a part of their life, the better for everyone and the better for the City of Newark. Required yoga classes are a combination of free yoga classes offered in Newark through NYM and other entities as well as classes at studios outside of Newark at designated yoga studios."
Application is online and deadline is February 1, 2017.
