Ironbound endorses TAXI
The Ironbound Business Improvement District (IBID) has joined a growing list of community leaders and elected officials in support of #TAXI (#8294), a new service that connects mobile phone users with the first available taxi no matter where they are calling from in North America. To help increase awareness of the new service, the IBID has joined with CellWand, the company that introduced #TAXI, to promote the service in Newark's Ironbound District through a wide range of promotional efforts.#TAXI is a "smart" service for mobile phone users using advanced technology that can detect your location and connect users with local companies providing taxi and livery car services, a benefit to the local economy. CellWand receives a percentage of the fee associated with the call, which can be lower than calling 411. The service is available to most mobile phone users, including customers of AT&T, Sprint, T Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon.
