Jypsea’s New Fall Collection
Newark born designer, Meca McKinney introduces her fall/winter collection of accessories. Her luxury line of handbags, cuffs, and small accessories are handcrafted using discarded fur shawls, leather garments and exotic skins. The collection is currently available at boutiques and department stores. But fret not, on BLACK FRIDAY, Jypsea will have a POP-UP Shop on Amazon.com for holiday shoppers until Dec. 20th, 2010. Follow Jypseadotcom on Twitter to stay in the loop.
Meca is a product of Arts High School in Newark and went on to study at the world-renowned Fashion Institute of Technology. She has also taught fashion, accessory design and sewing at after-school programs in Newark. Meca has worked hard as a designer and artist to develop her own niche to fill the void between ultra-expensive accessories and cheaply made, mass-produced items.
See some of her fabulous items in the Fall/Winter Lookbook here. And to keep it all in the Newark family - the lookbook was created by local designer, Nina Pilar; photographed by Dawan Wryet Alford, and shot downtown at the Art Kitchen.
