Lincoln Park Music Festival 2012

Lincoln Park kicks off Monday with a 70s Skate Party at Branch Brook Park with DJ Naeem Johnson and more. The week includes partnering with NJPAC with America's Got Talent on Tuesday & Wednesday, Sounds of the City Thursday with TEMPO featuring Caribbean Sounds with Kevin Lyttle and New Kingston.

The rest of the traditional festival weekend schedule is below:

FRIDAY: July 27

11:30am: Comedian Ron Snipes will kick-off The 7th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival

12pm -3pm: Afternoon of Jazz at Lincoln Park Hosted by Amiri Baraka
Jazz at Lincoln Park will feature performances by: "The NewArkestra" Featuring Adegoke Steve Colson, Alfred Patterson, Calvin Hicks, Rudy Walker, Rene McLean, Gene Ghee, James Stewart, Carlos Francis and Dwight West.

3pm - 6pm: 8th Anniversary of Newark Idol Hosted by Butta Fly Soul
The 8th Anniversary of Newark Idol will feature a Tribute to Broadway and special program honoring Whitney Houston. YOPAT's "Newark Idol" featuring City Wide Youth showcase of dancers, rappers, singers and spoken word and celebrity judges.

6pm - 9:30pm: An Evening of Gospel
An evening featuring local, regional and national recording gospel artists featuring Hav' Mercy, McLeod, Christ Church Newark, Dawn Tallman, Linelle Andrews - One Voice and S3 & The Truth

SATURDAY: July 28

12pm - 9:30pm: Celebration of House Music
Featured DJ's: Kevin Hedge - Blaze Imprints & Roots NYC, Lou Gorbea - Omi Tutu, T-Wise - Ubiquity Soul and Darnell - Kindred Spirits.

Artist Showcase Featuring: Tanja Dixon, Keisha Hall (Cima Recordings), Jon Pierce (Phuture Sole Recordings), Rick Galactik (Blaze Imprints), Viola Sykes (Blaze Imprints), Dawn Tallman (Slaag Records), Kenny Bobien, Alicia Myers and Leroy Burgess.

Live percussionists throughout the day featuring indigenous instruments from Brazil, West Africa, Peru and India.

10pm-3am: "Lush" The Official Lincoln Park Music Festival After-Party at Vibe Bar & Lounge - is a free after-party and features DJ Carl Dupree, Phuture Sole Recordings.

SUNDAY: July 29

The 35th Rock Steady Crew Anniversary "Rock Steady for Life" Hosted by The End of the Weak
Featuring The Rock Steady Crew with Crazy Legs, MARI, MEGA, ATS, Renegade, Mr. Wiggles, Mr. Freeze, Fever One, Bonita, Y-Not, Pop Master Fabel and many more.
