Lower Broadway Mural
Lower Broadway's latest neighborhood mural, located at 79 Broadway, has won the 2012 Innovator Award from the Cultural Access Network Project, a Co -Sponsored Program of the NJ Theatre Alliance, and the NJ State Council on the Arts. The "Still Eye Rise" mural was created in partnership with the Lower Broadway stakeholders, City of Newark, La Casa De Don Pedro, NPS' John F. Kennedy School (which focuses on students with autism, multiple disabilities with moderate cognitive involvement and the medically fragile), artists James Wilson and Joel Bergner, and the Kessler Foundation. The Innovator Award was presented at the Fourth Annual Access Awards Luncheon on June 7 at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton NJ.
