Mayor Baraka Announces Reform of Municipal Vehicles

On Friday, Mayor Baraka announced that the city is reforming the use of unmarked municipal vehicles to enhance accountability and transparency.

All unmarked vehicles being used by city personnel will be returned to the City's motor pool today, Monday, July 21 from 10am-12pm. They will be fitted with the City seal and be inspected for condition and damage. Users will also return their employee fuel cards, registration and insurance paperwork. After inspections, vehicles that are in good condition will be assigned to the city's Motor Pool for distribution, back-ups or disposed of.

Moving forward, the City's Business Administrator will determine the needs of vehicles in Departments, and a recommendation will be made to the Chief of Staff for approval.
