McDonalds with Community Spirit

Jessica Quintana (aka @McBossLadi - find her on twitter) has made McDonalds not just another chain but a community meeting place for fun and learning. The McBossLadi owns many McDonalds in North Jersey but within Newark limits - she owns the one downtown on Broad, West Market and 18th Avenue.

Quintana has sponsored a Newark Chess team - with Newark locals competing statewide and hopefully further. She also sponsors Chess Blitz competitions downtown Broad Street and even community chess classes for youth to learn. A few years ago, she led and sponsored a basketball game for the two rival gangs in town which was a peaceful and exciting event. The 18th Avenue location also hosts McFamily Night on Mondays with free face painting and different children's activities.

This past week, McBossLadi debuted a Newark video/song/dance/movement - "Shake tht Shake" by DJ Frosty filmed in front of the Broad Street location. Check it out below:
