Meet: Makeba Green

Newarker, Makeba Green started OMG Photography at the age of 13. But she didn't want the business to be strictly business. OMG isn't an ordinary photography business, it's a non-profit organization that strives to motivate, inspire, educate and promote excellence. Makeba holds true to those qualities putting community first.

OMG Photography provides scholarships to students raised through Makeba's fundraising initiatives. The organization also collects prom dresses and tuxedos to distribute to students. (They are currently actively collecting dresses and tuxedos at Montclair State University).

On April 25, Makeba's organization will host its third annual Scholarship Gala at Club Blue, downtown. The winning scholars will be announced that night. The night will also honor Newark entrepreneurs, organizations, community leaders and more like Pooka's Dawn Fitch, Kaleena Berryman and Lawrence Hamm to name a few.
