More Summer Concerts Added

City of Newark announced some new concerts as part of its Super Summer programs this weekend and the 26th.

August 11: David Cedeno and His Orchestra & Art
Time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: Elwood Park, located at Summer Avenue and Elwood Avenue (North Ward).
Latino group

August 12: Tribute to Whitney Houston
Time: Noon to 6 p.m.
Location: Washington Park, Broad and Washington Streets (Downtown)
Local musicians, including Gabrielle Findley, Jasmin Wise, Lawrence Dandridge, and Josephine Quaye Performances of the Newark native and Grammy-winner's songs. August 9 would have been her 49th birthday.

August 26: Michael Jackson 3rd Anniversary Birthday Party
Time: Noon to 6 p.m.
Location: Washington Park, Broad and Washington Streets (Downtown)
Local singers, dancers, and musicians (including Mikette). Performance of many of the music legend's songs and music. The event is timed to what would have been his 53rd birthday (born on August 29, 1958).
