Mural Opportunity deadline Friday

The Newark Arts Council and the Mayor's Office of Arts, Cultural Development and Tourism have a mural opportunity.

There are three selected sites for the murals.
1. The back wall 611-613 Clinton Avenue: Wall on city-owned apartment building
2. 528-530 16th Street; Wall at back of city-owned lot
3. 620 15th Avenue; Wall adjacent to JJJ Grocery

Dimensions are at least 20 feet by 10 feet
$1200 Stipend plus materials

Artists should present some examples of past work and a rendering of what the ideas they propose for this project.

The project should include:
1. A community engagement component.
2. Youth involvement, if possible.
3. The services of Newark artists.

The selected artist(s) should consider the cultural history of the neighborhood in relevance to his/her pictorial presentation.
