National Farmer’s Market Week
It is National Farmer's Market Week! And we are lucky to be surrounded by several farmer's markets in Newark with the Washington Park Wednesday Market and the PSE&G Market on Thursdays. Plus we can't forget the Newark Youth Leadership Project who sell fresh local produce, mostly grown right here in Newark at their Court Street Urban Farm. Stop by and pick up some nutritious fruits and vegetables and support the summer youth interns at the Greater Newark Conservancy Tuesdays through Thursdays til August 16th.
This week the Greater Newark Conservancy's Youth Farm Stand will be at the following locations selling organic Newark grown eggplant, cucumbers, tomatoes, kale, watermelons, zucchini and peppers. They are also selling corn, honey, dried black soy beans and beets from other local New Jersey farms!
- Wednesday (August 8th) YMCA at 600 Broad Street from 11:00-3:30pm
- Thursday (August 9th) at the Newark Downtown District from 11:00-3:30pm
