New Ride in Town: Newark Trolley
Looks like we'll have a new ride in town - this Friday (October 3) is the Newark Trolley Launch. The Newark Trolley is brainchild of Charley Cano who had a crowdfunding campaign to launch the trolley.
In an article with PlaceNJ, Charley Cano says that his motivation for the trolley came from noticing "an increase in international visitors and folks from other states. I was strengthened in my belief that Newark will be the next great downtown."
This Friday afternoon, he invites you to ride on a trolley car through downtown Newark. They will be making stops at city art galleries and historic sites. Music played will include ragtime, swing, old jazz, blues, early rock n' roll and 60's soul (possible spots of modern music). Some limited commentary highlighting local points of interest.
