Newark Downtown District Launches Winterfest

It's here! Today kicks off a month-long lineup of events for Newark Downtown's First Annual Winterfest! This holiday festival will bring live music performances, art, food, and holiday goods to Championship Plaza at Prudential Center in downtown Newark!

Winterfest offers events and activities for everyone! The music stage will feature holiday music, a professional storyteller will tell festive holiday tales during "Storytelling by the Fire," and wonderful merchandise can be found during the Winterfest Marketplace, which takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays. There will also be winter characters on the Plaza and a photographer snapping photos of all the fun! Best of all, horse and carriage rides will take place every Thursday and Saturday, December 13th; $5 a person. The horse and carriage will draw passengers from Championship Plaza on Mulberry and Edison Streets, north to NJPAC, then back south on Mulberry Street. It's a wonderful holiday experience! All events will run from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
