Newark Pride 2013

The theme for this year's Newark Pride Week is "Brick City: Indulgence." There's a lot of events planned for the week to embrace the entire community.

Tuesday, July 16

Stunts & Shows: The Big Gay Gameshow
5-8pm; Rutgers - Newark, Dean's Lounge, Ackerson Hall; Free
Pride Youth Event. Dueling "houses" compete to win prizes based on their knowledge about Newark's LGBT history, organizing and activism. Half "Family Feud" and half "Ru Paul's Drag Race."

Official Launch Party
6-8pm; Nico's @ NJPAC; Free

Newark Proud! Awards Gala

Sunday, July 21

Pride Day in the Park!
11am-8pm; Washington Park; Free
11am - 12:30pm: Community Church Service in Washington Park. Join Unity Fellowship Chuch of Newark for prayer and song in the park. All religions and denominations welcome.
1pm: Pride Parade - Corner of Raymond and Park Place/Broad St., Downtown Newark
1 - 8pm: Newark Pride Festival - The main event! A full day of entertainment, food, local and renown performers, and vendors. Raffle at 3pm with free prizes!
