The season of Green is upon us. Every week there is a different St. Patrick's Parade - well Newark is home to New Jersey's oldest parade. The 78th Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held Friday afternoon, March 15. Grandstand ceremonies (at 100 Mulberry Street) will begin at 12:00 pm followed by the official parade kick-off at 1:00 pm. The Parade Route is from the Prudential Center along Mulberry Street, past the Gateway Complex, NJPAC, Military Park, Broad Street, St. Patrick's Pro-Cathedral and ending in front of the Newark Museum and Washington Park.
"We are very pleased to have Patrick Dunican and Eileen Gilleece lead the Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade in its 78 year," said Michael D. Byrne, General Chairman of the event. "We hope Irish-Americans in the City and across the state will support this year's parade."
