Newark’s First Youth Mayor

You experienced the election, now there's a chance for a teenager to participate in our city government. The Newark Youth Mayor is an appointed position created by Mayor Elect Baraka to help better engage youth in civic, cultural and government activities.

General Requirements:
- Newark Resident
- HS Junior - College Sophomore
- Ages 16-20
- Minimum GPA of 2.7

The Youth Mayor will be responsible for identifying and collaborating with Newark youth to create a youth agenda to be presented with recommendations to Mayor Baraka. The youth mayor will also be responsible for advancing the youth agenda throughout the city.

The deadline is June 25th.
