NJPAC Brings Live Music to Ironbound Happy Hour
NJPAC is spicing up happy hour at two Ironbound restaurants by offering live music by Rafael Cintron in celebration of Live Music Month and countdown to the James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival.
October 23 @ Catas from 5-7pm
October 30 @ Mompou from 5-7pm
Chiara Morrison, Manager of Promotions and Community Engagement, told us, "New Jersey Performing Arts Center is committed to continue to engage and develop our reach within the community. We are pleased to support October's Month of Music with the melodic Latin sounds of Rafael Cintron, of Los Cintron. We are thrilled to bring programming beyond our doors and into the community."
"Our community engagement programming continues into November with our second annual TD James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival that will be held from November 4th through November 9th this year. We are excited to celebrate throughout the city of Newark and on the NJPAC campus."
Rafael Cintron is part of Los Cintron, which is described as: Passionate, lusty, fiery and electrifying. They transport their audiences through a journey that speaks to their souls to dance, sing, and cry and release all poetry within them to continuous standing ovations! Rafael was highly influenced and studied guitar with musical greats, such as Maestro Sabicas, Maestro Mario Escudero. It is evident that they did not choose music, but music chose them. These brothers are native of Spain, they arrived in the USA at a young age and have been living both here and abroad for the past 40 years. Their music is expansive, they sing with the souls of gypsies and enchant you with their rhythms
Come check it out at Catas and Mompou as Live Music Month continues.
