Last Cory Booker posted on twitter, 30,000 residents within the city are without power. This Nor' Easter coming our way will bring very low temperatures and wind gusts. This may affect our current power supply. Please prepare by charging phones/batteries/etc.
 

Forecast

Forecast for today and tomorrow for Winter Storm Athena from weather.com will bring the season's first accumulating snow from Delaware and Maryland to New England. Here is their forecast timing:

- Wednesday: Snow/Rain spreads northward from Delaware and northern Maryland to southern New England and the Hudson Valley. For the metro NY area, occasional gusts over 50 mph Wednesday and Wednesday night, diminishing Thursday.

- Wednesday night: Spreads into northern New England; may persist farther south into Hudson Valley, N.J., eastern Pa., Del., northern Md.

- Thursday: Lingering light snow from the high country of northern New England to the Poconos, ending in the afternoon.
 

Shelters/Help

JFK Rec Center is open for those without heat/power to take shelter during this new storm. They can also provide blankets/food/water for those in need. Please call 973-733-4311 with questions/details.
