NY Liberty’s Final Season in Newark
The New York Liberty will open the 2013 regular season on May 25 on the road against the Connecticut Sun in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Liberty face the Tulsa Shock in the first home contest of the year on Opening Night at Prudential Center on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. The team will host 17 home games during the 2013 regular season, including three matchups against the defending WNBA Champion Indiana Fever.Other schedule highlights include: Dad's and Daughter's Day on Jun. 9 against the Atlanta Dream; Liberty mascot Maddie's Birthday celebration on Jul. 7 against the Chicago Sky; Liberty will host the Third Annual Downtown Dribble event on August 3 against Connecticut; and the season will conclude with Thank You Newark Night against Atlanta on Sept 6 and annual Fan Appreciation Game on Sept. 10 against the Phoenix Mercury in the regular season finale.
The 2013 season will mark the last that the Liberty will call the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ home. Phase III of the three-year, top-to-bottom Transformation of Madison Square Garden will be completed in fall 2013, and the Liberty will return to The Garden for the 2014 season.
