The stars were aligned on Saturday for a perfect evening. Over 700 guests gathered at Washington Place alongside Washington Park with beautiful views of the museum, library and surprisingly the Veterans building for Newark Under The Stars. Attendees paid a $35 ticket and were provided tables and chairs. The work was left to guests to come dressed in white and to bring with them to decor for their tables and their own food. Entertainment was provided by DJ Sienna Chanel, DJ Young Fresh, and the V music band.
The proceeds of the night will go to the Believe in Newark Foundation for their scholarship fund to assist college bound city youth.
Linda Jumah, one of the event producers, shared her thoughts. "I'm elated that we were able to bring this type of event to the city. The feedback has been nothing but positive and I am sure that next year we will have an event that scales in comparison to what we see around the country. Aside from it being the premiere social event of the season the attendees contributed to a good cause and that's what is most important to me."
