Princess Prom Needs Dresses

East Orange based organization, Systas 4 Systas, Inc, (Supporting Young Sisters to Achieve Success, also known as S4S) is a community driven organization which was created to develop and enhance the self-esteem of young women in urban areas between the ages of 11-21 years old. They are now collecting gently used dresses, which will be donated to young ladies attending their Senior prom, 8th grade socials or to be worn to their graduations.

Dresses can be dropped off for donation at the East Orange YMCA located at 100 North Arlington Avenue, or mail to 421 Parker St., Newark, NJ 07104 or call for pick-up 973-392-1405. The deadline is April 15, 2013.

S4S will invite high school seniors in East Orange and Newark to take part in their Princess Prom Project. The girls can pick out a prom dress as well as get beauty and etiquette tips for their big day. All participating ladies will be asked to write an essay on why they deserve to be a Prom Princess, for a chance to have their hair and makeup professionally done on prom day.
