Jazz Jam Session with Radam Schwartz GSN'12

Join jazz program alumni and friends at this jam session hosted by legendary vocalist "Goldie" Golson, featuring Radam Schwartz GSN'12 on organ and Earl Grice on drums. Bring your axe and get ready to sit-in!

Author Talk: Billy Eckstine, Evolution of a Singer

Join author and jazz historian Jeff McMillan GSN'00 as he shares his research on the fabulous "Mr. B." and reveals little known facts about this noted musician and performer. Following the program, Jazz MA Alumni, current students, faculty, IJS staff, and other friends are invited to Kilkenny's Pub, located at 27 Central Avenue, to continue the conversation over drinks and appetizers! MFA in Creative Writing Program: Reception, Book Signings & More

Join us for a reception, readings, and book signings with three recent alumni of the program. Showcasing their published and soon-to-be published original works are Kevin Catalano GSN'03, '12 (fiction) reading from The Word Made Flesh, Nick Ripatrazone GSN'05, '11 (poetry) reading from his collections Oblations and This Is Not About Birds, and Christa Parravani GSN'11 (non-fiction) reading from her memoir Her. The evening will conclude with an interactive discussion with the authors on "Surviving and Thriving Post-MFA." REGISTER

The registration fee includes one drink of your choice; hors d'oeuvres including Kobe beef sliders, calamari, pizza, chicken lollipops, and more; unlimited soft drinks; and a Rutgers martini glass. Happy hour pricing will be in effect all night. Free parking is available after 5:30 p.m. in the lot on the corner of Broad and Atlantic Streets. You may think that you know every nook and cranny of campus, but you'll discover places you never knew existed on this tour that will give you an insider's look at just a few of Rutgers-Newark's hidden gems! Hear from some of the people who work behind the scenes and learn more about your campus. Among the stops will be the Golden Dome, where our Scarlet Raider athletes train, the Institute of Jazz Studies, the preeminent jazz archive in the world, WRNU, our student run campus radio station, and other campus buildings and places of interest.
