Soda Pop Open 2012

On Saturday, April 7, 2012, the City of Newark hosted a "Soda Pop Open" Table Tennis Tournament for children and adults, at the Boylan Street Recreation Center, located at 916 South Orange Avenue, in the City's West Ward. The tournament was co-ed and open in the following age categories: 11-under, middle school girls' and middle school boys', High School Division II (intermediate), High School Division I (advanced), Girls' Junior Open (18 and under), Boys' Junior Open (20 and under), Adult Open, Adult Division II (intermediate), and Adult Division I (advanced). Boylan Bottling Company of Teterboro was a sponsor of the event and provided free soda. Above, William Burigo, a Newark native who regularly attends the Boylan Street Center, and won the Age 11-and-under category, participates in the tournament.
