Spotlight on So Excessive

So Excessive has been on Raymond Blvd for a year now - this tiny boutique is chock full of the latest jewelry trends (like those seen on Basketball Wives and many other celebrities): rings, earrings, chains, bracelets, jewelry organizers, and more.

Keena Williams, the store owner, is obsessed with jewelry. In fact, she's designing her own Excessive Hoops collection and by next year hopes to be designing the majority of the brand. Keena designed her store as if customers were stopping by their stylish BFF's house for help on how to accessorize. She or her employees are quick to share tips on jewelry care and how to wear the accessories.

Keena, a Newark native from the West Ward, could think of no other place to start her business other than Newark. Like her own store, she loves that you can find little boutiques and specialty shops sprinkled around the city - "like finding hidden jewels."
