Summer 2013: Farmers’ Markets

Although we have featured the two downtown Farmers' Markets there are several more to know about so you can pick-up local and fresh produce all summer.

And thanks to the hard work of Elizabeth Reynoso, the City's Food Policy Director, all the community farmers' markets below will be accepting SNAP and have farmers who accept WIC and SFMNP.

FARMERS' MARKETS

University Hospital Farmers' Market

Open: Every Tuesday from June 4-October 29
Hours: 10am-3pm
Location: NJ Med School Plaza (12th Avenue between Bergen St & Norfolk St)

Washington Park Farmers' Market

Open: Every Wednesday from June 26 - October 30
Hours: 12pm-7pm
Location: Washington Park (corner of Washington and Broad Streets)

Newark Downtown District Farmers' Market

Open: Every Thursday June 13 - November 14
Hours: 11am-3pm
Location: PSE&G Plaza at Raymond Blvd near Broad Street

INDOOR FARM MARKET

Newark Beth Israel Farm Market

Open: Thursdays all year
Hours: 11am-4pm
Location: 201 Lyons Ave (indoors in the Employee Entrance)

FARM STANDS (One Producer)

Greater Newark Conservancy Youth Farm Stand @ Court Street Urban Farm

Open: Tuesdays July 9 - August 13
Hours: 11am-4pm
Location: Court Street and Martin Luther King Blvd. (behind the Krueger-Scott Mansion)

Greater Newark Conservancy Youth Farm Stand @ 32 Prince Street

Open: Tuesdays 10am-3pm; Wednesdays 10am-3pm; Thursdays 1-6pm

SWAG (South Ward Agri-Garden)

Open: Every Friday June 7- November 8
Hours: 11am-6pm
