Green Week started this past Saturday with the opening celebration at Riverside Park.

All this week is national farmers' market week. Stop by and buy fresh, delicious produce at one of Newark's markets. See the entire list.

Monday: August 5

Energy Savers Workshop - In partnership with the Newark Public Library, the Newark Museum, and PSE&G, the Newark Office of Sustainability explores energy and renewable technologies with youth from the YMCA day camp. 10:00 - 11:30 AM @ Newark Public Library

Tuesday, August 6

Youth Led Park Clean-Up - Join Newark youth, community volunteers and City employees to clean up at Jesse Allen Park and learn environmental stewardship. 9:00 - 11:00 AM @ Jesse Allen Park

Wednesday, August 7

Re-use Materials Art Workshop - Newark artists and designers demonstrate their talents turning discarded materials into art and new products. Join us to watch this interactive demonstration and then make your own arts and crafts. 2:00 - 4:00 PM @ Ironbound Rec Center

Thursday, August 8

Environmental Justice Tours - Newark Environmental Commissioners will leading tours for Newark teens highlighting Newark's industrial legacy and ways the community is fighting back to reclaim its land, water, and air. Friday, August 9

Community Health Fair - Join us to learn about how to make your home a healthier place for your family, including strategies for improving indoor air quality, becoming lead safe, and saving money on energy. Information will be available at tables alongside games and activities for children. 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM @ Avon Avenue School

Saturday, August 10

Tree Giveaway and Newark Greenstreets Open House - Take home a baby tree and support Newark high school students as they present their summer job measuring the city's tree canopy at Newark's largest urban farm. 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Hawthorne Hawks Healthy Harvest Farm
