Summer 2015: Riverfront Event Season

Newark Riverfront Revival's event season kicks off June 20th, with their 4th Annual Walk to the Water and River Day. They meet on the steps of City Hall and Walk to the Water in a symbolic reclamation of the Passaic River. Following the Walk, there will be a day full of family and entertainment activities by the Orange Sticks in Riverfront Park. In the morning there will be sports and fitness activities with a Zoo Crew Basketball Tournament and Ironbound Soccer Club Tournament from 9am-1pm in the sports fields located on Raymond Boulevard and Brill St. Riverfront Yoga will also take place by the Orange Sticks at noon. There will be music with DJ Omar Abdallah and special performances by Urban Kween, Grupo de Liberdade Capoeira, Oasis Youth Steel Pan Orchestra and Maurice Chestnut and Charissa Dowe.They are looking for volunteers, if you are interested please email [email protected] or call (201) 341-8311.

- Return of River Boat Tours of the Passaic including Port Tours
- Outdoor Fitness with Yoga on Mondays and Zumba on Tuesdays
- Movie Nights
- Riverfront Chess at 1pm: June 25, July 9 & 23, August 6 & 27, September 10 & 24, October 1
- House Music Nights select Fridays 7-9pm: June 19, July 3 & 24, August 14 & 28, September 25
- Return of Walkshops & Tours and Praise by the Passaic (June 27)
- Art Shows 2-5pm (July 19, Sept 13, October 4)
- Culturefest with poetry, spoken word and music July 8 & 22, August 5 & 19, September 9 & 23
- HipHop Weekend: July 10-11
- Theater Night: July 18
- Cobblestone Music Night: July 31 7-9pm with R&B, Hip Hop & Jazz
- Quick Culture Meetup: network with creative and innovative minds August 1, 29 and September 26 (2:30-5pm)
- Carnivale on the River: August 8 12-8pm
- Jazz Night: August 21 7pm
- Lusophone Music Night: September 11 7pm
