Van Gogh’s Starry Night Recreated

As covered by Sherrell Dorsey on Inhabitat.com, South Street Elementary School created their own rendition of Vincent van Gogh's famous Starry Night with 5,000 bottle caps. The bottle caps were collected by parents and local businesses. Younger students sorted the caps by size and color and others painted the plywood. Bottle caps were attached using screws donated by the Home Depot. The teachers used the project as a lesson on conservation and art. The mural is being showcased at the Newark Museum from April 13- June 23.
